Hummus is a savoury dip made from cooked chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. It is popular across the Middle East and around the world.
Ingredients
2 cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/4 cup tahini paste
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice or Cortas bottled lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup cold water (or as required)
Place chickpeas, garlic, tahini, lemon juice and salt in a food processor, and blend until smooth. Add cold water for a smoother consistency.
Taste, and add more salt, lemon or tahini as desired.
